Hi Guys!

It’s been a while and I must apologise – a strange combination of life, work and too many adventures got the better of me. But I am here now and dying to catch you up on a couple of things! It's strange because as I write this I sit in my Bologna (Italy) hotel room reminiscing over the last the couple of months..... As I have a lot more to share I best get on with it! :)

Following the impromptu ski trip to Italy towards the end of last year I had another chance to utlise the season - this time in Austria (Kitzbuhel & Kitzsteinhorn). All in all the verdict is positive: over 15 days on my pass – may not sound too impressive to some of you, but I am definitely proud (have you seen the “How To Be a Skier” video?).

All in all I enjoyed myself and the journey wasn’t too bad (car again) but I have to admit: day 3 I wrecked my right leg. A combination of lack of stamina, bad weather and ice (I would never admit it down to my inability to ski :)) led to a massive hematoma on the thigh. Hurt like hell and kept me out of the game a couple of days. Also caused several people in the swimming pool to give me weird looks. Perhaps reminded them of an inkblot and I should've followed up with "what do you see in the picture?".

What surprised me so much in Austria, was the fact that EVERYBODY (I really mean everybody) was a pro skier – either training to be one or was one at some point in their life (I don’t really have an explanation how and why they get so good – I guess it’s a requirement with your passport).

Italy still holds a dear place in my heart, but I am certainly glad closing season was such a success. All my gear is sparkling clean and safely stored for next season… till then time to dust out the dresses and spring combinations!

Catch you with the next post on here (promise this is the last skiing post! (for this season...)).

H.B
