Urban Chic! (Pt II)

Hi Guys!

Last week I shared with you a little about the trip down memory lane Elena and I took (check it out here) – this week I thought I’d give you the full breakdown.

We met 16 years ago (the calculation took us a little longer than we care to admit). She was my brother’s girlfriend and the truth of the matter is, long before we were officially introduced I knew about her. What’s more I admired her – and I should be a little embarrassed to share this but I still remember her favourite song at the time (you’re allowed to cringe on my behalf!): “Come Along” by Despina Vandi (remember the early 2000s Coca Cola adverts? Have fun humming it all day now – you can thank me later ;)).

When I finally got to meet her during the summer school break of 2002 I was so incredibly excited. Safe to say at the age of 11 I didn’t pose much interest to her and she only graced me with a well-mannered “Hello”. The dork in me still persevered nonetheless and I thought I was the coolest (right?!).

Queue a couple of years later and Elena and I have come a long way. Although the road wasn’t always rainbows and butterflies I like to think our relationship is like fine wine - it only gets better with age.
